How Gaxim-500 works Gaxim-500 contains Cefuroxime Axetil 500 mg, a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) which is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body, thereby killing the bacteria and clearing the infection.
