Lactusnu Uses Lactusnu is used in the treatment of constipation (chronic and habitual). It is also used to prevent and treat hepatic encephalopathy (brain dysfunction due to liver disease) by reducing ammonia levels in the blood. It softens stools and promotes regular, comfortable bowel movements.

How Lactusnu works Lactusnu contains Lactulose Solution USP, a synthetic non-absorbable sugar. It works by drawing water into the intestine through osmosis, softening the stool and increasing bowel movements. In liver disease, it acidifies the colon, trapping ammonia in the stool and reducing its absorption into the blood, thereby lowering toxic ammonia levels in the brain.
