Egakof-D Uses Egakof-D is used in the treatment of dry cough associated with common cold, allergies, runny nose, sneezing, nasal congestion, watery eyes and throat irritation.

How Egakof-D works Egakof-D is a combination medicine. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant. It acts on the cough center in the brain and reduces the urge to cough. Phenylephrine is a decongestant. It narrows the small blood vessels in the nose which provides relief from congestion or stuffiness. Chlorpheniramine Maleate is an antiallergic. It blocks the action of histamine (a chemical responsible for allergy) which relieves symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Menthol provides a cooling sensation and helps relieve minor throat irritation.
