Gaxim-CV Uses Gaxim-CV is used in the treatment of serious and resistant bacterial infections such as respiratory tract infections (sinusitis, pneumonia, bronchitis), urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, ear infections, bone and joint infections, and infections caused by beta-lactamase producing (resistant) bacteria.

How Gaxim-CV works Gaxim-CV is a combination of two medicines. Cefuroxime Axetil 500 mg is a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that kills bacteria by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective cell wall. Clavulanate Potassium 125 mg is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that protects cefuroxime from being destroyed by resistant bacterial enzymes, thereby making the combination effective against a wider range of resistant bacteria.
